Funeral service for the late Mr. Ernest William Schmidt of White Rock were held at Barriere, near Kamloops. Mr. Schmidt, who was 80 years of age, died in Royal Columbian Hospital, New Westminster on Dec. 23rd.

A school teacher in Barriere for 25 years, he came to live at White Rock with a daughter when he retired. He was born in Germany.

Surviving are two sons, Helmut, Vancouver, and Ernest, Barriere; and three daughters, Mrs. H. Fleissener in Austria; Mrs. A. Ganning [richtig: Janning], Darfield, BC and Mrs. F. Lechner, White Rock.
